Maybe you’ve attended a church for most of your life or maybe you’ve never attended a church before. In whatever category you find yourself, we all ask the same basic question when considering a new church, what should I expect?
At Berean Presbyterian Church you can expect to meet friendly people, to hear preaching faithful to the Scriptures, and to engage in worship that is simple yet robust.
If you would like to experience the preaching at our church, click here.
If you want to learn more about the elements of our worship service and why your time with us will not feel like a rock concert, click here.
Now is a good time to mention that Berean is in a denomination called the Presbyterian Church in America or PCA for short. Our denomination celebrated its 50-year anniversary in 2023, and we are hopeful for many more years of faithful ministry!
Our church adheres to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms as the accepted exposition of Scripture’s teaching. So, if you want to know what we believe, you can find those documents here.
Now that you have a sense of who we are and what we value, let’s answer some of your practical “what to expect” questions.
Worship Time and Location
On any given Sunday you will see a wide range of dress from people wearing a sport coat and tie to people wearing jeans and a polo. If needed, we have a nursery available for those with infants or toddlers, but we encourage parents to keep their children with them in the service. We know that young parents with young children can be nervous about what people will think of their squirming child, but we consider children a great blessing, not a burden.
We greatly value intergenerational worship and love to keep our families together in our worship services. This is a great opportunity for parents to instruct their children and quietly explain what’s happening in the service!
One last thing. We have two entrances to our building. The lower entrance where most people park leads you into our downstairs fellowship hall. Any set of stairs from the downstairs will lead you near to the upstairs sanctuary where we gather for worship. We also have an upper entrance next to our handicap parking (exterior stairs from the lower lot lead to this entrance also).
As you may be considering a new church, we realize that you may have many more questions we didn’t answer here. If that’s the case, please feel free to visit our contact us page. Our Pastor would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have about our church and ministry!
